First Baby Tooth

Seven months old this week and our sweet baby has cut her first tooth.  We've suspected something was going on in there.  Not necessarily because of all the drool, she's been a drool monster for months.  But, she has been gnawing particularly hard on mommy's knuckles the last few days.  It's still too small for a picture, but expect to see one in the upcoming days.  She already is interested in daddy's toothbrush...do you think he'll notice?

Family Time

The kids and I decided to spend a little time together outside on our new lawn today.  What used to be dirt, worthy for a rolling Siamese, is now a nice shady place to relax.  The furry children received long, much needed brushings while Chesney dodged the flying fur balls. Ahhhhh, summer.

Dinner and a Nap

Well, what can I say, a full belly needs a nap.  Chesney made it through all of the squash, a little bit of oatmeal, and one spoon full of yucky fruit.  Then suddenly while drinking from the sippy cup, her eyes went cross and it was lights out.  Luckily the high chair reclines, and baby girl took a half hour nap.  Hey grandpas, don't you wish your chair at the dinner table reclined?  And then, the magic Genie cleared the table, washed the dishes, and had a scoop of chocolate ice cream waiting for your eyes to wake.  I'll keep dreaming.

Holding hands

Oakley is such a sweet dog.  He has learned to love the his new baby sister.  He is often checking on her, and even gives sloppy kisses that wrinkles the baby's nose.   Whenever Oakley is near, Chesney giggles and giggles. We've taught the pup to "love your baby."  This is when Chesney needs tending, and mommy's hands are busy.  Oak will go to her and whatever was upsetting is turned to happy squeals.

Boating Babes

Summer is finally trying to show in Utah.  We may be a little early for the warm water, floaties, and water toys, but my parents can't seem to wait to start playing on the lakes and water ways that surround us.  I was a little unsure of the new jacket that I had to wear at first, but soon I got used to it.  We had a wonderful afternoon on Jordanelle Reservoir while Daddy was checking the boat to make sure that it could easily supply us with endless fun adventures on the water.  I tried talking Mommy and Daddy into going for a swim, however they said that it was a little cold for them.  Oakley wasn't scared  and swam enough for the whole family.

The grass is greener...

There has been a lot of yard work going on at the Bear Den.  I talked Wes into renting a excavator for a day in an attempt to re tame the wild kingdom.  We've owned the home for almost 6 years, and have never had the opportunity to update the landscaping.  During the short summer season, we are usually drawn to the the river in Arizona. Wes' dad brought up a couple of pallets of the most beautiful sod to lay in the two areas adjacent to the front door.  Wes and I removed 9 trailer loads of debris, and have been watering frivolously trying to grow little grasslets.  We were all rewarded with a double rainbow the other morning, so Chesney and I ran out for a pose on our new lawn.

Sippy Cup

I do apologize for the sideways format, I couldn't  figure out how to edit this video. Chesney has been joining us at the dinner table the last several weeks. She sits in her high chair sampling various veggies, fruits, and cereals.  She has decided that fruits are yucky, and like her daddy thinks bananas are especially awful.  Surprisingly, baby girl isn't sharing her mommy's sweet tooth.  I thought I'd introduce the learner sippy cup.  It has a strange silicone nipple, which is proving fun to chew on.  Practice, practice, practice.
