Put on your baby face and strike a pose.

At three weeks, I decided to take her down for professional pictures at babies r us.  It was just before Christmas and Grandma & Grandpa Roe went along.

Mommy couldn't resist a funny hat.

Meet the family

Great Grampa Wes Dana was also in town visiting Aunt Leanne.  We took the opportunity to spend the evening with her wonderful family.

Wes' mom, Grandma Lorraine Sorensen, arrived as soon as she could (nothing can keep Grandmas away).  She made Chesney a beautiful baby blanket to keep her warm and snugly.

Everyone come and see...

Grandma Karen and Grandpa Jim Roe, came right away to see the Thanksgiving blessing.
Chesney is their 5th grandchild, and they are quite comfortable with the role of spoiling and loving their grandbabies.

Daddy's a natural!

What a lucky girl to have such a wonderful daddy.  Wes wasn't afraid to jump right in a give baths and file those sharp nails.

Thanksgiving Day and we're going home.

She's soooo little!!
Bundled from head to toe you can hardly see the little bean.  Brrr, it's 15 degrees outside.  Mom and baby were released around 11 a.m. Thanksgiving day.  Wes' sister, Tara and her husband Derek Kishpaugh were in town and thankfully helped pack up all the wonderful flowers and gifts we received.

Our wonderful friends, Ann and Ron Gemoll sent a yummy cookie arrangement.  Wes sure did enjoy those cookies while trying to figure out how to sleep in the silly chair the hospital called a bed.  Poor guy, I sent him home the second night.  Figured someone needed to feed the dog, and get some actual sleep.

Daddy's Girl

St. Mark's Hospital had professional photograhers who would come to our room to take pictures.  This was a really nice service offered, and they would even post them on the hospital website called webnursery.  This was my most favorite picture, Wes and his new baby girl.

Prego pics

The morning of...

Sleepy eyes prove I'd been up all night with mild contractions.  Patiently waiting for Wes to wake with his 6 o'clock alarm, I gave him the news he might want to stay home from work today.  Moments later, I got out of the shower to find the car was already packed and running.  My husband was whisking me down to the hospital in Salt Lake City.  I didn't think I was actually in labor, our due date was still two weeks away.  Never-the-less, Wes and I knew that having a winter baby in the mountains of Utah could pose an issue, considering it takes over an hour to get to the hospital.  I agreed we'd head to the Valley for the night just to error on the side of caution, due to the blizzard that was moving in.  The snow kept falling and the roads were icy, we found out later that the highway was being closed right behind us.  Pulling into the hospital parking lot I insisted on running some errands and waiting to go in, I just knew they were going to send me home with false labor.  Luckily I lost that battle.  My husband can read me better than I can read myself.  Within an hour, my water broke.

  As the face shows,
momma is getting big with one month to go.

June sneak peek

On June 3rd we had another opportunity to see our baby.  Still not sure what whether it'll be bows or balls in our future.

9 weeks

On our next visit to the doctor continued to assure us everything was progressing wonderfully. Poor baby, it's parents can't stop peaking at it. Note the heartbeat was recorded at 176 beats per minute.

Is that our baby?

After only 9 weeks, the little dot we've been spying on is actually taking shape. How exciting!

8 weeks, and still just a dot.

Second view into our future.

First look at the beating heart

At 6 weeks, a viable beating heart.
