Glow Worm

As much as I enjoyed the attention of being in a maternity ward consisting of only one other patient and 3 very bored nurses, the energy of the nighttime attendants was not always fully appreciated. Being woken at 1:30 a.m. by a friendly nurse carting a lighted table, Baby Girl Price as she was currently named, had a case of jaundice.  She was in no way a fan of the eye protection.  Luckily by morning, the nurses had found a sleeping bag version that did not require the goggles. Wes observantly renamed her baby glow worm tightly wrapped up in the warm glowing blanket. By morning she had kicked the yellow belly concern.

First Bath by an Old Hand

Once again, daddy showed of his steady hand when it comes to bathing his baby girls.
He doesn't hestitate a bit when comforting an exposed little toosh in loving arms.

 Good Morning Beautiful Arrival

We knew that our little girl was not going to wait until her due date to meet the world. Our doctor had scheduled her induction at 37 weeks since mom was diagnosed with a mild form of preeclampsia.  We arrived at the hospital at 5:30 a.m. expecting to be holding her by late afternoon.  To everyone's surprise, our 6 lb 9 oz, 19 inch miracle was in her mommy's arms by 9:25 a.m.

Living Planet Aquarium

We all went to Utah's Living Planet Aquarium last week, and had a wonderful time.  This is a beautiful facility that has a little of everything on display.  We saw sea turtles, seahorses, eels, river otters, penguins, lots and lots of different fish, and mommy even fed the sting rays.  Chesney was so excited to see such amazing and colorful sights.  The penguin encounter was quite a show.  All the penguins flew out of the water, lined up on the edge of the pond and one by one jumped in swimming and splashing round and round.  It was almost they were putting on show just for us. The big green sea turtle swam many laps around her tank to Chesney's delight.  One of mommy's favorites, although I don't care much for the critters when swimming next to me, were the jellyfish.  They had different colored lights displaying the magnificent creatures.
The hardest part of the day, was deciding which penguin was coming home with us.

Busy Baby Cleaning Out Cabinets

Chesney is such a busy baby.  Now that she is officially a toddler, there are many things that need her attention.  She has become fascinated with the trash can, and daddy and mommy constantly have to check the contents of our rubbish.  I was outside talking with a neighbor, when I peaked in the window just in time to notice the baby cleaning out the bathroom cabinets.

Frozen Lake

Grandma, Grandpa. and JD Sorensen came to visit last weekend.  We decided to wander over to Strawberry Reservoir for a little ice fishing adventure.  The ice was over a foot thick in the middle of this giant lake.  We took Chesney's sled, and a few pairs of cross country skis that JD and Kris scooted around on.  Wes and Jack augured holes through the most beautiful clear ice, down to the water.  They sat starring into these little holes for hours hoping for nibbles.  This is quite a popular thing to do around these parts.  We did manage to catch one, but unfortunately he got a little tangled and escaped. It was a gorgeous day to spend with the family on a frozen lake.

Monkey Hat

Chesney and I went to the Park Silly Market recently.  Every Sunday the town blocks off lower Main Street for vendors, music, and food.  It is a fun outing for us.  We found a lady who was knitting these adorable hats, and Chesney decided the monkey was the one for her.  It even covers her ears on these cold Park City days.
